Phillip David Charles Collins was born January 30, 1951 in London, England. From 1968-70 he was part of the group Flaming Youth. From 1970-1996 he was the drummer for the group Genesis which recorded many hits, the biggest of which may have been "Land of Confusion" complete with a music video including popular puppet celebrities of the time (Michael Jackson and Ronald Reagan were just 2 of the featured puppets).
Phil Collins began his solo career in 1980. He's been making solo records and touring ever since then. During his continued pop career as a solo artist, Phil Collins has recorded and performed several #1 hit songs including: "Sussudio", "You Can't Hurry Love", "Against All Odds", "A Groovy Kind of Love", "Seperate Lives", and "Another Day in Paradise".
