Emeril Lagasse biography
Emeril Lagasse started out working in a Portuguese bakery in Massachusetts as a boy. He turned down a music scholarship and eventually earned his doctorate at Johnson & Wales University culinary program. Upon completion of school, Emeril worked in Paris, France, polishing his cooking skills. He returned to the US to work in restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia, building up his famous reputation. He was eventually convinced to come to New Orleans and presided over the famous Commander's Palace restaurant. Afterwards, Emeril went on to open his first restaurant in 1990, leading the way to many more. He currently has establishments in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami Beach and Atlanta. His popular cooking show Emeril Live can be seen on the Food Network. Emeril also has two published books: Emeril's There's a Chef in My Soup! Recipes for the Kid in Everyone and From Emeril's Kitchens: Favorite Recipes from Emeril's Restaurants.
