The Australian Open 2013 is live streaming online and televised this weekend with the men's and women's tennis finals to be decided! The latest tournament comes to an end with two of its Previous Year's champions in the Finals this year too. Novak Djokovic Ranked 1 by the ATP who also won last year's Australian Open Men's Singles Title has been in good form this season and has secured his place in the Finals where he will face none other than ATP Rank No. 3 Andy Murray on Sunday 27th Jan, 2013. Women's Singles Final will be Saturday 26th Jan, 2013 between Rank #1 and last years's Australian Open Women's Singles Champion Victoria Azarenka and Rank #6 Li Na.
All of the tennis action will be live streaming online via WatchESPN, in participating regions where the broadband sports network is available for viewers. Otherwise, ESPN is the channel to watch on cable or satellite, although the matches are listed for 3 a.m. EST on Saturday (for women's final) and 3 a.m. EST on Sunday for the men's finals.
In the men's field, Novak's play this season has been tremendously outstanding. He not only won matches but millions of hearts of tennis lovers. His consistently good performance has brought him in the Finals. In his First round he beat P. Mathieu of France by 6-2, 6-4, 7-5. In the Second round R. Harrison lost to Novak by 1-6, 2-6, 3-6. Novak faced R. Stepanik in the Third round and won by 6-4, 6-3, 7-5. His winnings continued when he beat S. Wanrika in a tough game by 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-7 and 12-10. In the Quarterfinals he faced T. Berdych and beat him in a 4 set match by 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 and 6-4. His Semifinal seemed far easier than previous games where he won against David Ferrer by 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1.
Andy Murray on the other hand beat Roger Federrer in the Semis which was a neck to neck battle by 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 6-7 and 6-2 to reach the Finals. In Quarters he won against J. Chardy in an easy game by 6-4, 6-1 and 6-2. His First four rounds were with R. Haase, J. Sousa, R. Berankis and G. Simon where he won by an easy score of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 and 6-5, 6-3, 6-1 and 6-3 respectively.
In the women's singles Victoria Azarenka secured her position in finals by beating M. Niculescu in the First round by 6-1 and 6-4. Her second round match was against E. Daiilidou in which she won by 6-1 and 6 luv. She beat J. Hampston in her Third round by 6-4, 4-6 and 6-2. Her Fourth match was with E. Vesnina which she won with an easy score of 6-1 and 6-1. In her Quarterfinals she faced S. Kuznelsova and beat her by 7-5 and 6-1. To make the Finals she beat S. Stephens in the Semifinals by 6-1 and 6-4.
Li Na from China who also made to the Finals of this year's Australian Open won her First four rounds by 6-1 and 6-3, 6-2 and 7-5, 6-4 and 6-1, 7-6 and 6-1 against S. Karatantchesia, O. Govostsova, S. Cirstea and J. Goerges respectively. In the Quarters she beat A. Radmanska by 7-5 and 6-3 to reach the Semis, where she beat none other than the gorgeous Russian player and No. 2 seed Maria Sharapova by 6-2 and 6-2.
Well there have been disappointments with Roger Federrer and Maria Sharapova out but the game is still on and could provide excitement for tennis fans.
